Duratran light box and vinyl lettering
Canalside Health Care Centre, Bingley, 2010

Inscape creates an illusory opening onto the heavily carved rock shelf of 'Druid's Altar' - an outcrop of rock that overlooks Bingley and the Aire Valley.  The text that weaves across the walls of the health centre then into the image and onto the craved stone was generated from fragments of conversations from members of the Bingley Harriers Athletics Club.

LED light installation for Unite Student Accommodation, Corfe House, Poole, 2009
Commissioned by UNITE and Poole Borough Council

Model Living is a light art installation created specifically for the two main entrances of Corfe House in Poole.  The artwork comprises of two elliptical structures each housing a model based on the modular construction of the student apartments.  Coloured LED lights are programmed to illuminate each model and the surrounding canopies of the two entrances.  The lighting responds to the movement of people entering and leaving, to create a constantly evolving colour sequence.

The artwork was developed in consultation with students and staff at UNITE.

Duratran light boxes and C-Type Print
Critical Care Department, Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, 2009
Commission for Arts In Trust, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Utopia is a series of illuminated photographic light boxes installed in the waiting areas of St Luke's Critical Care Department at Cheltenham and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.  They each create a series of illusory views through the waiting room walls onto a rural vista that has been subtly altered to create a scene that cannot be matched to any actual English landscape.

The objects that can be found within the image relate to conversations with staff and patients about their aspirations for the artwork, and the things that they feel can contribute to a healing environment.
